Yorkdale Shopping Centre, in partnership with the City of Toronto, hosting an employment event on May 24th to fill 50 retail positions for new retailers leading into the busy summer tourism and fall retail period. Yorkdale is home to numerous exclusive international brands, with more scheduled to arrive in the coming months, that need positions filled. Among the retailers participating in this employment event are new-to-Canada brands such as Chloe, Miele, iQ FOOD CO. and Laline.
This employment event is part of an ongoing partnership between Yorkdale and the City of Toronto that has helped fill more than 1500 retail positions since it launched in 2012. The partnership supports the City of Toronto's commitment to connecting young job seekers to Employment opportunities through the City's Partnership to Advance Youth Employment (PAYE) and Youth Employment Partnerships (YEP) to identify and match qualified candidates to available opportunities. The candidates are coached and provided with resumΓ© and interview support prior to the recruitment event.
George Okurapa, Manager Employer and Stakeholder Engagement, City of Toronto and Yorkdale Marketing Director Mina Barbuto greeted participants and launched the employment event as part of the Cityβs commitment to connect employers and job seekers across the city.
